ProSource Gelatein 20

I usually do not write product testimonials, but your Gelatein20 is one of the best protein supplements I have ever used. I work as a dietitian in an acute care hospital and cover the med-surg unit. For years, many of our surgical patients ended up on clear liquid diets for days. Much of my time was spent pushing to get their diets advanced at least full liquids to provide protein. Clear liquid diets contain no protein, and surgical patients have higher protein needs. We started using Gelatein20 in place of regular gelatin, on our clear liquid diets, so we were able to reduce the grams of sugar and provide 60 grams of protein a day! Thank you for such a practical solution to one of my toughest problems.

I reviewed this product in February. I take it regularly due to a protein deficiency and other health issues. A few weeks ago the consistancy changed from a 'stiff' jello to a much softer, near apple sauce consistance. Much easier to eat and swallow. No chewing necessary. Taste remains the same for both flavors. Still recommend it. It doesn't seem like a medicine or 'diet' food.

I've only eaten the "red" fruit punch flavor so far. The flavor is good and about the same sweetness of regular gelatin. It is a little 'stiffer' than regular gelatin, but I had no problem swallowing. I've heard some patients fed by aids complain of the texture. It does stick to the side of the container more firmly than standard gelatin. I prefer it to the protein 'milk shake' as it is less calories and doesn't contain milk.
